Winter Gutter ImageSpring is a great time for new beginnings and new habits, not just for you but for your house as well. +

Ground hog day was just last week.  When the ground hog saw his shadow, Vail mountain was receiving a foot of fresh powder on top of a previous two days of snow and since then, another 12 inches has come down.  And it was cold too.  So we were shaking our heads when the report was that spring is to come early.  And even though we love the powder days and the kids even had a snow day – that my daughter says was the best snow day evah since she and most local kids got to ski!  But as we know in Colorado, give it a minute and the weather will change.  Good thing too, because we tend to get a little grouchy when the sun doesn’t shine for a week or more.

So what is happening during the first two weeks of  February?  It’s starting to feel like spring and the Broncos won the Super Bowl!  And we are beginning to see home maintenance to do lists pop up in our inbox, Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Now is the time to consider energy and water efficient fixtures and upgrades.

So we wanted to remind our clients that now is a great time to line up project plans for the summer.  If you are considering a new boiler, water heater, or other plumbing, air conditioning, home mechanical upgrade or a kitchen, bath remodel, send us the plans and we’ll give you an estimate.  Or if you would like to have us do a walk through with you and make recommendations, call us today and we’ll get you on our schedule. A few things to think about are toilets, faucets, shower heads.

Here are a couple of recent checklists we received from Porch –  January Maintenance Guide – Porch Advice.   Or their February guide here.    We receive new customer leads from Porch on a regular basis.  The relatively new company is based in Seattle, WA and is growing leaps and bounds.  And with their recent partnership with Lowe’s Home Improvement stores, we are seeing local homeowners from the Roaring Fork valley, Glenwood Springs area and our home base in the Eagle River valley utilizing their service.  Their mission is, “Our mission is to help everyone, everywhere, love their home.”.  So the free service is for homeowners to connect to remodel and construction professionals.  It’s similar to Houzz.
